Thinking about the future possibilities for any form of new technology can be exciting ad well as terribly frightening. For example,Google Glass will allow us to record our lifetimes with just a phrase. However, it also possibly become a distracting piece of equipment to strap on to people’s heads while they’re driving or even walking. Youtube as an interface can generate a whole new realm or free entertainment to a broad audience and also accidentally exposes great live action talent. But on the other hand, it can also be hurt other forms of entertainers, such as animators who are not getting paid enough by youtube to make a comprehensive living. Perhaps though the most exciting form of new immersive technology to reach the hands of consumers is Virtual Reality. I will influence and drive us to force a new way to look at entertainment.
There can be many arguments made for how the Oculus Rift or the New Samsung VR headpiece will shape the future of the video game industry within the next 5 years. However, down the road, the implementations of this device seem to have more of a personal and selfish platform in which to rise from: Artificial Intelligence dating.
No, this quick article is totally not completely influence by that one time in Futurama that Fry feel in love with A.I. Robot Lucy Lu. That would be silly.
Instead, this has been an observation made upon the now more lonely and isolated society is today. Many people now have much more social anxiety than ever before, and only a handful of people they can trust. Even much of dating’s general makeup now is filtered through a screen. Whether its online dating, snap chatting what you’re up to, or even having the occasional text message break up. Why would we bother even doing all of that if with real actual people, when I can load up a free model of busty Emma Stone that is completely charmed by your knowledge of all 151 Pokemon in the Kanto Region and how to properly breed them in ‘Emerald Green’ for the Game Boy Advance? No real girl would feign that interest for even two minutes. But A.I. Virtual Reality dating Emma stone would ask for more to learn.
All in all, Virtual Reality already seems to be heading in this direction anyway. It won’t be too long until Dating Sims for Virtual Reality have at least some comprehensive form of Artificial Intelligence that would make them addictive to talk to. And with lonely people just getting lonelier and more anxious, it seems like the only logical path for the future.
(Disclaimer, I really don’t wanna date a robot)
